Amidst the chaos of World War II, an autistic young man worms his way into the war effort, to find his brother said to be missing in action.
SYNOPSIS:
THOMAS GREENE is a meticulous book worm, eager to be the hero he sees in his charismatic brother LIAM, who with the onset of WWII, achieves his dream of being a pilot while Tommy is held back due to his autism. As war stirs life on the home front, their childhood friend EDEN ALCOTT grows more concerned for Liam, not only taking matters into her own hands, but unintentionally inspiring Tommy to retake the conscription exam and join the war effort--no matter the results.
Demons of his past fight their way into focus causing the present to feel that much more pressing. The training Tommy endures alongside fellow News Correspondents, proves slightly more challenging than the drills Liam put him through as a kid; but his naive positivity and relentless rule following seem to only attract punishment. In gaining friends he must also face ghosts of his past as Tommy fights to keep his focus on saving his brother. Only after finding Liam in dire circumstances, does he realize that winning the battle isn't what makes someone a hero.
In search of new direction, he ends up face to face with a monster no adventure book could have prepared him for. Taking charge with new found resolve, he must decide whether revenge and prejudice are worth giving up the power he has, but never realized was so special.
