LOS ANGELES: SPECIAL VICTIMS RESPONSE UNIT

LOS ANGELES: SPECIAL VICTIMS RESPONSE UNIT
By Areale Hanks

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Action
LOGLINE:

When Dr. Alana Reed a former federal oversight authority figure’s niece goes missing, she organizes an off-book recovery team tracing missing persons cases to a system of exploitation protected by power. The conflicted operative must expose the network before institutional forces bury the truth and condemn countless victims to disappear.

SYNOPSIS:

Beneath the surface of law enforcement, immigration control, and international transit systems exists a hidden crisis—one that selectively ignores the disappearance of Black and brown girls.

When high-profile disappearance hits close to home, a decentralized network of operatives—composed of former federal agents, intelligence analysts, tactical recovery specialists, and community-connected insiders—begins uncovering a pattern far larger than a single case.

What starts as a missing persons investigation quickly escalates into the discovery of a covert trafficking pipeline operating across borders, masked by legitimate systems and quietly protected by individuals in positions of power.

As the network pushes deeper, they encounter resistance not just from criminal organizations—but from political figures, institutional leadership, and agencies more concerned with containment than truth.

Operating off-book and outside traditional jurisdiction, the team must:

  • Recover victims before they vanish permanently
  • Expose a system designed to remain invisible
  • Navigate internal betrayal, surveillance, and jurisdictional conflict

But the closer they get to the truth, the clearer it becomes:
