WHERE DO DREAMS GO WHEN THEY DIE?

LOGLINE:

An unemployed computer engineer struggling to get a new job finds in helping his daughter with homework the motivation to keep believing in himself and a reason to follow his dreams. 

SYNOPSIS:

Joseph Wood, Jo, is unemployed after the company he worked for years performed a downsize. He spends his days searching for jobs, taking care of the house and his daughter, and on lucky days he gets to go on interviews in which he is terrible at.

Facing a hard time to get back on track Jo finds in his daughter, Autumn Joy, a reason to smile and keep positive. It is Joy who brings out the question “Where do dreams go when they die?” after a deep conversation with Jo about dreams that only should be a school assignment about what she dreams to be when she grows up. Joy is also the reason why he is desperate and willing to get any job so he can provide the best for her.

His wife, Nique, on the other hand is tired and frustrated at him for not having a job and for being the only one providing and paying the bills in the house. Jo, always find time to pay a visit to Terick, his best friend who works on a convenience store and is the only one besides his daughter supporting him. But the friendship is shook by a desperate measure taken by Jo on a bad day that he has to decide to disappoint his wife more, who just lost her job too, or lie to his friend until he can fix the situation and then tell him the truth.

The situation escalates and Jo is now on the bad side of both his wife and best friend. This puts Jo on a state of dissatisfaction with himself and wandering around to clear his head he ends up on his old job building and decides to go in. As he greets and talks to his old colleagues he mentioned he still unemployed and ask for his job back even if he makes hath of what he used to. His old direct boss tells him that his hands are tight and there is no positions available but the one for janitor. Without hesitating Jo takes the job.

All his remaining coworkers are surprised to see Jo working as a Janitor, but he assures them that as long he can help his family he does not care what he does for a living. Nique, gets even more frustrated at Jo for taking a role of a Janitor on a company that he used to be a Computer Engineer. He promises her that is temporary and he is going to get his job back.

Days passed and the company has a problem with an important client and nobody seems to find the source of it. One day after finishing his job and ready to go home Jo listens to his boss complaining about the situation and offers to help. He then spends the whole night fixing the problem and is compensated by the client not only with money but also with a major role as his company tech guy. His life starts to take the shape of his dreams and he is able also to allow his daughter and wife to achieve their dreams.
