Determined to succeed as a web designer, their having collided on entering her new place of employment. a delightful young woman downplays an interested salesman’s efforts to engage.
SYNOPSIS:
Synopsis: On entering her new workplace for the first time,
Barbra collides with Skip, a graduate student who works as a salesman
for the firm. As usual, Skip had been in a hurry to meet a client.
Barbra is welcomed by Ms. Rymp, her new supervisor, and her dear friend
Jasmine. Later, by way of breaking the ice and making an apology, Skip
brings in some donuts for his officemates, but when he approaches
Barbra, he finds her too involved in her work to engage and, as she is
‘watching her calories’, not interested in accepting a donut. The next
day, as Barbra, Jasmine, and Heidi break for coffee, Skip comes in for a
cup, too, and in his hurry bumps into Jasmine as he turns causing him
to spill his coffee. He apologizes to Barbra for bumping into her who
says not to worry and seeing he is pressed for time, offers to clean up
the spill and does so. Later we see Jasmine in a car with her female
office mates who assure Barbra that Skip is a great guy and invite her
to join them on Thursday evening at Eduardo’s restaurant and bar.
Thursday comes. Everyone is to meet at Eduardo’s after work, however,
Barbra says she will be late as she has a previous commitment. Skip is
there but must hurry out to meet a client and, on his way out, as fate
would have it, in his hurry, he collides with Barbra, knocking her
umbrella to the floor. Skip apologizes, picks up the umbrella, and
suggests they need to stop meeting this way and asks Barbra to join him
for dinner sometime. They agree to work out the details of their meeting
at work the next day. On Friday night Skip arrives with flowers at
Barbra’s, and they go to dinner. At dinner, Barbra considers the
possibility of ordering a cyclone to drink, however on reconsidering,
they both order a brew and toast to smoother sailing . . . for the two
of them.
