In a world marked by climate change, political discord, war, and the end of COVID masking, the Matters sons look to their futures; their mom does therapy with a boy and a girl with autism; their dad adapts to his left side blindness; and all observe the effects of climate change and wonder what the future will bring politically.
SYNOPSIS:
In 2022, a year in American history that opens with the January 6 Committee investigating the attack on the Capitol, the start of the war in Ukraine, the COVID masking mandate being lifted, and climate change wreaking havoc across the world, Jason talks of working to lessen climate change, Mary and Lou marvel at its powers, and Marty speculates on making music his lifelong profession. Mary improves the ability of a boy and girl with autism to interact. Cal, in Ohio, explains how the Stykes farming practices preserve the soil, lessening climate change. Jason and his girlfriend, Cassie, also discuss climate while Marty interests Aster in music and invites her to a prom. Meantime, the Matters, the Stykes, and Ariana neighbors discuss and wonder about the politics of the day and climate change.
