Introduce Yourself : A story worth telling by Geno Marx

A story worth telling

Hi everyone. I am a writer, director, producer, editor and artist. We are now in post-production on my first official short film called CAPSIZED. It has been quite a journey so far, and a very exciting one at that. So much positive energy and momentum has surrounded the film from the very beginning. It is definitely an experience that will stay with me for a long time and one that I think is worth sharing. Early on I was very fortunate to attract a lot of very talented people to the project (2 of whom I met on Stage32). People that not only take their careers seriously, but who truly believed in the story I wanted to tell. The difference to me, or the reason I believe the outcome has been so great on this film, is that it was a genuine and heartfelt story. So many people these days are what I call the YouTube generation. They make quick throw-away skits infused with whatever gimmick they think will attract attention at the moment. Be it humor, politics, or shock factor. All of these people seem to be hoping to somehow strike lighting in a bottle in the form of "going viral." Well to me that is not true film making. CAPSIZED is a real story that has touched everyone involved because it speaks to them at an emotional level. It is a story that anyone can relate to and one that could happen to anyone. And that to me is a "Story Worth Telling." https://www.facebook.com/capsizedthemovie Best wishes to all and keep following your dreams! -Brandon

I don't consider the work I did in film school "official." This film is a legitimate SAG-Aftra short with SAG actors and professional crew. Not students. So that is why I said it is my first Official Short Film. ;-)
