Yes, if we ask ourselves and believe it to be true. Asking someone else will only give you their perception of things.
I agree. Your perception may be right and others may be wrong. But I could be wrong!

Honestly, there really is no right or wrong, only perception.
It is informative to have a few different perspectives but always be careful who you ask make sure you trust that person and trust your own opinion too.
