I am involved with two fund raising projects - the USCIS EB-5 program and a more traditional stock IPO. The Employment Based Immigration program sounds particularly enticing since the Federal Government is backing it. They have the audacity to allow me (an American citizen) to open up a Regional Center with funds deposited by foreigners who are seeking citizenship. Each immigrant puts in $500,000 and it is up to me to create 10 full time jobs for 2 years. Sort of "cash for citizenship". My goal is to have 1000 full time employees for 2 years working on projects and I would need 100 aliens participating. I would raise $50M - much of that goes to salaries of the employees and some goes to the sponsors (immigration attorneys, etc) while a large chunk is available for film production. Its complicated - and its not for the faint of heart, nor weak of pocketbook! Its like living here in Jersey! But if I can get $30,000 I can get this underway. Still working on it.
