We have the seventh annual "Naughty Readings" in Lowell MA November 19, courtesy of Image Theater ([www.imagetheater.com][1]). Thinking about the scripts submitted for the event I'm concluding more and more that a good naughty script is more suggestive than explicit. It relies more on quirky characters rubbing up on each other than on heaving bosoms and acrobatic positions.... My play on the bill for the Naughties this year is more cute and funny than X-rated. It involves a male artist's model and the blocked writer he meets on his break. One producer asked me could I please put in some more dick jokes in honor of the evening, and the other producer said please don't, so I opted to leave it as it is. We'll find out in a week if the audience agrees with my decision. [1]: http://www.imagetheater.com
Actually, you can see a reading of my script, "Poseur" in episode 1 of Live From Studio A, our local tv show of new scripts by area playwrights: [livefrom-studioa.com/][1] [1]: http://livefrom-studioa.com/
You could offer a Q&A afterwards to guage audience acceptance
I saw a good naughty film recently as part of the Austin Film Festival, a short called "Pass the Salt Please."
