Trailer for Forgiving Retribution

I have completed my short film, Forgiving Retribution and am currently in the final stages of editing. It is 24 minutes long and I am providing a link to the trailer. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts you all might have on the trailer, structure, format, impact, etc. I didn't write a script for the trailer, I just had the structure in my head and edited sequences that I thought would make for a compelling trailer. Again, I really appreciate any thoughts you all might have.

Congratulations on completing your short film, Curt Samlaska! It's a compelling trailer! The opening shot caught my attention, and the trailer kept it. The trailer doesn't give away too much, and it ends with a strong image.

Nice work, Curt. The trailer does a great job of giving us an idea of what the film itself is about and the whole mood and tone is very obvious. Seeing what your profession is, I'm assuming the story reflects some amount of reality in your own life, and that comes through. Best wishes on going forward with your short film!

Thanks Maurice...appreciate your comments. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. Took 9 months from the first shoot in Minnesota to the finish...

You're welcome, Curt Samlaska. I'm looking forward to seeing Forgiving Retribution!

Thanks Lynn...yes. I am an internist and a dermatologist, spent 14 years in the military. Amazing experiences and in my earlier years I was hip deep in very, very ill patients. I initially wanted to go into oncology, but honestly, I became numb to the number of patients I watched succumb to their malignancy. I was involved in setting up telemedicine in Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia and I was involved with 15 hospital admissions in one hour related to a real mass casualty event. 300-400 physicians commit suicide each year in the United States alone. That is what this short is about...

Lynn Garthwaite

Curt, I see your comment to Maurice above that you shot the film in Minnesota. That made my eyes perk up because I live in Minnesota. Where did you shoot?

Curt Samlaska

Hey Lynn. The opening scene was shot in my cousin’s back yard, south St. Paul. All the rest of the short I shot in Las Vegas and Henderson Nevada. I’m from Minnesota originally.
