Darren Aronofsky said, "The mistakes happen when you try to figure out what everyone likes because the only thing you can be sure of is what you like. And the reality is what you like ends up being what a lot of people like because we're all going through a very similar journey." He's right, Tucker Teague. It's hard to figure out what people like, and no filmmaker can please everyone. One moment people like one thing, and the next they like another thing. I think filmmakers should just make what excites and moves them and things that people can relate to.
Now, more than ever, is that advice relevant -- you can literally shoot a movie on your phone and distribute it on YouTube. It's never been a better time to work on your craft.
