Entry 024
Lately, I’ve been taking stock of everything—where I’m at, what’s next, and how to move forward. After weighing my options, I think I’ve found the right place for the event, but I’m holding off on saying it just yet. Things are moving fast, and I’m ready to see how it all plays out. My main focus right now is pushing toward the music event. While checking out the venue, I think I found the right camera person too—cool place, by the way. I know I’m going to be fully in it, especially with the people I’m bringing in to help make it happen. It’s all coming together, and I can’t wait. It’s just a matter of time before everything falls into place as it should—and in the process, it’ll enhance everything else I’ve been building.
This week has been a whirlwind. I’ve brought together a group of instrumentalists to collaborate with me on the mixtape, handed them the agreements, and now I’m just excited to see what they create. It’s crazy how everything is falling into place in such an unexpected way. Every day, I wake up looking forward to what’s next. Along with the music, I’ll be working with a cover artist and an engineer to bring the whole project to life. It’s been a wild experience pulling all of this together, but with the constant support coming in, everything is aligning perfectly.
On top of that, I had the chance to meet the owners of a nonprofit called Streets of Paradise. They’re doing incredible work supporting the homeless while building up the creative community, and they brought me and another creator, Splice, on board to help brainstorm ideas. It’s an amazing opportunity that aligns with my passion for giving back. Balancing this with the work on my film is going to be a challenge, but I’m ready for it. Honestly, I’m just grateful. The people I’m meeting, the opportunities coming my way—everything feels like it’s happening at light speed. Even Splice agrees. But I’m loving every moment of it.
Today had me in a self-reflective mood. I’ve been taking in how far I’ve come and the people I’m dealing with, and honestly, it put me in a low spot for a bit. I went through the motions, but I kept pushing forward. During some downtime, I made it a point to work on other material besides The Timid Bunny?—because at the end of the day, no matter how deep I am in the business side, I’m still a writer. Gotta keep that sharp. Out of everything I’m working on, this other material excites me the most. It’s long, well-thought-out (at least in my opinion), and the process of planning it all out is something I love. Making sure every piece fits so that when the time comes, I can execute or pitch it with confidence. I can’t wait to see it come to life. But for now, I have to take it one project at a time.
It’s been a wild ride, navigating detours and taking things step by step. All I can think about is opening night—seeing the crowd locked in, artists playing their music, and their voices finally being heard. It’s going to be an incredible experience. But before I get there, I have to handle the work most people avoid—the grunt work. Don’t get it twisted, though. I’m learning, meeting the right people, and understanding what it really takes to bring an event to life. Once this detour with Ultimate Song Showdown and The Timid Bunny? is complete, I know it’ll all be worth it.
What excites me most is knowing how many creators will learn from what I’ve built. That thought alone is a rush. I can’t believe I get to experience all of this—I just have to keep my head on straight, make the right moves, and handle the pressure. It’s all going to come together. But hey, I’m an entertainer—this is what comes with the trade.
