Which Agencies Accept Scripts from Beginner Screenwriters Worldwide?

Hi everyone! I'm a beginner screenwriter looking to submit my script to agencies that accept writers from different countries. Since many agencies prefer established writers or require local representation, I’d love to know which ones are open to international newcomers.

Does anyone have recommendations for agencies or management companies that accept unsolicited scripts or are willing to consider writers without prior industry connections? Any advice on the best approach to submitting would also be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

So many of these people work through referrals. They prefer to go through people like other managers who can quickly tell them whether this person is ready or not.

As for people like us, these managers can still be reached, but it's a lot harder. Querying and contests have been my best route for getting a shot at these people, at least to get them to talk to you and give you real information.

Verify the judges on each contest you consider entering, and research if their company is legitimate. If you can, always ask for notes on feedback so you're constantly improving your draft.

If your budget is tight, querying is the big one to research. Also, query the manager directly and not their company. Their company may not accept unsolicited on that site, but an individual that works there could certainly like your query, like your script, and then bring it to their boss. Suddenly, you've been solicited by somebody who works there!

Lastly, have what I don't have: patience lol it's a long road, just keep trying. Harry Potter took ten years to get somebody's attention, and everybody said Sylvester Stallone was too ugly, had a weird eye and couldn't make it. This takes grit and a chip on your shoulder!

Hi, Anush Harutyunyan. Welcome to the community. Danny Range made great points.

Stage 32 has contests (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/contests). If you win a contest or place as a Finalist, Stage 32 will send your work to agents and managers who are seeking new talent. If you don't see contests that fit your projects, keep an eye on the Contest Page. Stage 32 will be adding more contests.

You could also pitch to managers through Stage 32’s Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions)? The main purpose of the Pitch Sessions is to get feedback to improve your pitch, but sometimes the executives, managers, etc. will request scripts, sign writers, etc. (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

I also suggest building up a portfolio of scripts. Agents and managers will most likely want to see that you've written more than one script.
