Something that is accepted among filmmaking circles is that you can’t make money on a short film. They are meant to be a proof of concept, to develop your skills as a filmmaker, build your portfolio and maybe get some film festival laurels…but never will you make a dime. You are financing and paying for your art.
Well, we are here to debunk that myth and show you just how you can monetize your short film so you can recoup your investment and perhaps even fund the next one.
You can monetize festivals, there are distribution platforms just for shorts and you have options to even do it yourself. To set yourself up for success, require research, and a targeted strategy for potential distribution platforms, audience engagement and leveraging various revenue streams.

What an amazing webinar for short filmmakers - this is such a hot topic - there are so many talented filmmakers here in the community who have made - or will make - short films and knowing how to monetize their films can be a game changer for them and their careers. Thanks for sharing, Sydney S!

Thank you Stage 32 and Kate Rees Davies for helpful info on short film distribution. We are putting the final touches on post-production and will then go to film festivals. Exactly what you said, 'films are magic and miracles ... they can take on a life of it's own.'
