The Film Making Saga

Entry 20

This week has been a whirlwind, but I’ve managed to find moments of clarity amidst the chaos. Before things really took off, I carved out some time to read Vagabond, a book I’m borrowing. It’s incredibly well-crafted, and what struck me the most was how deeply I connect with the main character. He’s fighting to become the greatest swordsman, and in a way, I’m fighting the same battle—just with writing. The relentless drive, the constant evolution, the highs and lows of becoming who you’re meant to be—it’s wild how much life mirrors art.

Art has this incredible ability to reshape your mind, to open up possibilities you might’ve once overlooked. And for creators, that transformation starts within us. I used to hate reading, especially when it was tied to a grade. But now, I read on my own terms, for my own reasons. I want to create something that sparks that same shift in others—the kind of shift that makes them realize what’s possible for them, too.

This journey doesn’t end with The Timid Bunny?. After this project, I’ll keep pushing forward—always creating, always writing, pulling greatness toward me.

Everything is moving fast right now. The mini pilot documentary is coming together, and I had the chance to speak with the Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Film at a nearby college. After our chat, I sent over a treatment for the project, and things are already moving. I also caught up with my step-cousin, who works with cameras, and he’s looking over the treatment now. I’m excited to see what’s being put together.

What’s brewing in my mind could bring a fresh wave of faces into the entertainment game, and the potential has me pumped. With the right help, I know it will all fall into place. I also met a friend’s mom this week—she’s got a fiery spirit and a heart of gold. She’s offered to help, and I’m eager to see how her support will move things forward.

I had another productive moment with Kimmy, who I met while working with my grandfather in landscaping. She’s in merchandising, and I reached out to her about the upcoming event. I’m going to need some killer merch for the launch, and she’s definitely going to play a key role in bringing it to life.

On top of that, I’ve been working on an idea with some musical artists around Florida that’s going to make waves. Once it’s live, it’ll be a game-changer for me and others in the Florida scene. I’ll keep it quiet for now, though—some things need to stay in the vault for a bit longer.

The momentum is building, and everything is falling into place. The only thing left is finding an AV guy, so I’ll start asking around to see who’s available. The pieces are coming together, and I’m ready for what’s next.

It feels like life is moving faster on the outside than it does inside. People keep telling me I’m moving at lightning speed, but to me, it feels like a steady pace. I’m out here hunting for sponsors, piecing together something huge, and I know I’m on the right track. But the waiting part—that’s frustrating.

I hate the chase. I just want to know—are you with me or not? I’m hungry for the next phase, and this whole process—it’s all about movement. It doesn’t always make sense, but I believe in what I’m building. Florida is going to love what’s coming. I’m ready, and everything is lining up. It’s just a matter of being aggressively patient.

Hey, Samuel Chambers. Glad to hear things are continuing to come together for The Timid Bunny? and the mini pilot documentary! And glad to hear so many people are supporting you and your projects! Congratulations on getting to 20 entries in The Film Making Saga! They're inspiring. I think this is my first time hearing about the book Vagabond. I just added it to my read list. Thanks.

Hey Maurice Vaughan, thanks so much for the kind words and support! It really means a lot to me. I’m excited to see how everything for The Timid Bunny? and the mini pilot documentary continues to unfold. And I’m glad you’re adding Vagabond to your reading list – it’s such a powerful story. Just a heads-up, Vagabond is actually a manga, not a traditional novel! It’s by Takehiko Inoue. Definitely a must-read if you enjoy powerful storytelling and stunning artwork. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

You're welcome, Samuel Chambers. Oh ok, thanks for the heads-up. I've never read manga. I've heard about manga though. I'm looking forward to reading Vagabond even more now!
