Introduce Yourself : Hello fellow creatives by John Radtke

John Radtke

Hello fellow creatives

Hi there, I'm John an optioned writer who loves to talk to my fellow writers and creative people. I love writing comedy because we all need to laugh.

Philip David Lee

John Radtke Hey John. Pleased to meet you.

Q: Why don't cannibals eat divorce people?

A; They're too bitter.

I hope that put at least a smile on your face.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, John Radtke. Hope you're doing great. Did you start pitching your Horror Comedy script, and did you start writing the new script?

John Radtke

Maurice Vaughan I'm pitching my horror script.

Maurice Vaughan

How's that going, John Radtke?

John Radtke

@mauricevaughn going okay.

Kat Spencer

Nice to meet you John Radtke! I love that, I agree. We need more laughter!

Maurice Vaughan

What's your script about, John Radtke?

Marie Hatten

Hey John , you aren't wrong about everyone needing a laugh right now!

Jon Shallit

Anyone who has a small mind can always find something to be offended by...that's what made comedy great...when people weren't afraid of those small minds.

Richard "RB" Botto

Always good to see you, John Radtke. Keep the laughs coming. Light hearted, fun, escapist fare is starting to win the day again.

John Radtke

Richard "RB" Botto I plan to. Thanks Richard!

Maurice Vaughan A bumbling priest accidentally releases an ancient evil upon his small town, now with an excommunicated priest, turned demon hunter, has 72 hours to stop the evil before it takes over the town.

Maurice Vaughan

That sounds interesting, John Radtke! The short ticking clock makes it even more interesting. Do the two priests get along or clash throughout the story?

John Radtke

Maurice Vaughan yes, both priests clash, the excommunicated priest used to be the priest of the church that the bumbling priest took over.

Maurice Vaughan

Fighting an ancient evil and fighting each other. Sounds exciting, John Radtke! I hope the pitching goes great and you sell your script! I'm looking forward to watching this movie!

John Radtke

Maurice Vaughan thanks so much! What are you currently working on?

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, John Radtke. I'm rewriting two feature scripts and working on a short script.

Pamela De Nicolo

We do, it's easier to make people cry than make them laugh so thank you

Michael Elliott

FYI: I was a professional, touring stand-up comic for 12/13 years (1991-2004). Making a room full of people (strangers actually) laugh remains one of the gratifying and creative things I've ever done.

John Radtke

Michael Elliott it takes courage to get in front of anyone to make them laugh.

John Radtke

Pamela De Nicolo I couldn't agree more. Don't worry I'll keep the laughs coming.

John Radtke

Jon Shallit Comedy is subjective, and if you're offended. Good, that means you're listening. By the way, people offended by a joke, it's a joke. Get over yourself. Laughing at yourself makes life worth living.

John Radtke

@mauricevaughn keep writing I love it!

JR Rodriguez

Well Said!!!

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, John Radtke. Keep pitching!

Michael Elliott

Club comedy was pretty freewheeling in the 90s. No one or no group was safe. That slowly started changing in the early 2000s. In 2003, I was a finalist in The World Series of Comedy. I finished runner-up (had to settle for 2d place $$$). I was known as "The Husband and Father from Hell" and this one 20ish judge gave me really low marks because, in his politically correct worldview, my act advocated violence against women and children.

John Radtke

Michael Elliott I loved comedy in the 90s, especially with comics like Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Kinison. It was raw and loud like 50s/60s/70s Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Red Foxx. People understood it was a joke, not to be taken seriously. (some people) Comedy should push the barriers. Anything can be funny if you look at it in a certain perspective. People don't like a joke, they think everyone shouldn't like it. It's a shame there are some truly talented comics out there, but I think about other comics out there who never got a chance because someone didn't like them.
