So excited for this! We got the first email from the exec over the weekend that he was circulating the script company-wide, he said "The script's conceit stood out, as well as the writer's (applicable) experience in the music biz." Then, a few hours later we got ANOTHER email from the exec saying he found a 2nd script he's circulating internally where he said "The idea is stellar and the execution is very solid. There’s a producer on it who I know well, and I’ll speak with her about it this week." - Very, very exciting stuff. Cross your fingers for these writers, but at least they've gotten to this very special place to have the buy in from a top exec company-wide!

It's a good time to be in business with Kevin Hart. That man is everywhere!

Hart's company is hyper aggressive. They're always looking to expand the empire. This is a fantastic open door for both writers.

Studios are highly risk-averse and they will all be aware of the risks associated with KH.

Considering Hart has deals around town and about 4-5 projects released a year, I don't think there's much hesitation there, Richard Buzzell. They're one of the most aggressive prod co's in town.

Things have changed for KH since the Diddy drop.

1 film in post, 2 currently filming and 28 projects in active development. Sure seems like the company is struggling.

Congratulations to the writers!
Once the Fiddy/Diddy doc drops, KH can start pumping out denials and hope that he gets some buy-in. Until then studios will take a wait and see approach. They might continue to give him meetings to hedge their bets. But don't look for any commitments until after it becomes clear just how this is all going to shake out.
And pure speculation at this point.
Not a debate. Maybe go on the Entertainment Weekly chatboard. And not the theme of this thread, which has been hijacked. Once again, congratulations to the two writers.
