James Richards I went through them with a project. I was let down by one of their ‘Producers’ and when I complained the CEO called me and dropped me because of my ‘attitude’, claiming that I was ‘unworkable with’. I was not impressed, especially after the first meeting, when they loved the project and wanted to work with me on it. You pay for their service and then they summarily dismiss you and you have no chance of redress. Don’t go there!
If you're a dreamer screenwriter looking to break into Hollywood, Voyage Media is not your answer. I paid $4,000 for their 8-call development program, only to be met with broken promises, minimal guidance, and a clear prioritization of profit over actual results.
Despite being pitched as a selective program, it became obvious they were accepting nearly everyone. Their “selective” pitch is likely just bait to lure in anyone willing to pay. The service promised collaboration via Basecamp, but my producer, Ryan, admitted he couldn’t even see my messages. Communication had to be routed through Voyage reps, often taking days—a system that felt inefficient.
The first half of the program involved generic industry chatter instead of real script work. Even the actual “script development” calls were filled with vague feedback, small talk, and occasional praise with no focused direction. After months of effort and rewrites, including revising my script according to “Save the Cat,” I was told my sci-fi concept was too hard to sell and was advised to start a podcast.
So, they already knew the genre was problematic, yet still took my money. All they had to do was send my script to their connections at studios or Netflix, but no, it looks like $4,000 and one year of hard work on the script with hundreds of hours is not enough to simply send an email with an attachment; they would rather keep sucking money from you.
In the end, Voyage gave me false hope, minimal support, and ultimately, a $4,000 loss. Their business model thrives on dreamer writers failing—not succeeding! If you're a writer trying to make it, look elsewhere. Don’t let them exploit your passion. I can't post my full review here because of the character limit, but I was able to post it on their Facebook. Please, if you value your time and money, go check out my full review. I just hope to save as many fellow writers as I can.
Max V. Sanne Hi Max, I’m sorry that you had to go through this. Wow, $4000! Maybe we should begin thinking that the higher the price tag, the more likely we are to be entering Shisterville.
I didn’t pay anything like that. A few hundred dollars, if I remember correctly, but still, you pay for something and you expect to receive what you pay for. I hope no one else on here has gone through that. Just be warned not to trust them.
I've had many come to me to pick if the pieces of the disasters they create, and they lost thousands with no recourse. One gal lost over $10,000 and what they gave her was absolute garbage.
I wasn't impressed!

Smoke and mirrors. I have not used them personally but I know people who have. Costly introduction service that never seems to pan out.

Thanks for this. It's very helpful. I'll spend my $5000 elsewhere!
