Richard David

My passion for acting

Dear fellow actors and producers,

My name is Richard David and I am thrilled to be part of this vibrant community of talented individuals who share the same passion for acting as I do. As an actor myself, I feel privileged to be able to connect and collaborate with you all in the pursuit of our shared goal - to bring great stories to life on screen.

I am particularly excited to share with you my background in martial arts. I believe that my skills in this area can add a unique dimension to my acting, bringing a physicality and authenticity to fight scenes and action sequences. I am eager to explore opportunities to incorporate my martial arts background into my acting work in the Hollywood industry.

I am also keen to connect with producers who share my vision and are looking for actors with a diverse range of skills to bring to their productions. I am open to exploring a wide range of roles and genres, and I am committed to working hard and giving my all to any project I am involved in.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message, and I look forward to connecting with you all soon.

Best regards,

Richard David.

Richard David Hey Richard - great to meet you on Stage 32 and welcome! What style of martial arts have you studied? I'm a 4th Dan in American Karate Warrior Do and a brown belt in American Kenjutsu. I taught for about 11 years and retired from teaching about 3 years ago but my daughter took over teaching for me. Would love to learn more about your styles and experience.

You're welcome, Richard David.

Richard David

"@mauriceVaughan" my favorite role to play given my interest in martial art I'll enjoy playing the role of a hero in a science fiction or fantasy setting. In such a role, I could use Martial art skills to fight against aliens, invaders , protect my mystical kingdom.

@leonardo Ramirez

As a little kid back then in my teenage age, I always hated being bullied so I starting making researches on self defense. Bullying got to me so I decided to go deep in martial art and I studied karate (it main hand techniques) and taekwondo (leg techniques) but in the long run, I took great pleasure in the following: Jiu-Jitsu, judo, sambo and Aikido so I went deep into them for nearly 4years now. Why? Because it had a lot to do with twisting and locking of joints. If you'd allow me to brief you on it.

The twisting and locking of joints to cause pain is a technique commonly used in some styles of martial arts, particularly those that focus on grappling and submissions. These techniques are often referred to as joint locks or submission holds, and they can be used to control and immobilize an opponent, as well as to force them to submit or tap out.

Some examples of martial arts that include joint locks and submissions as part of their techniques include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, and Aikido like I earlier mentioned. In these styles, practitioners learn how to use leverage and body positioning to apply pressure to an opponent's joints in a way that causes pain and limits their ability to move. It great

Richard David I agree, Richard. All of those disciplines are fantastic. I’ve had the opportunity to study all of them over the course of my teaching career. There’s a place that many practitioners visit called “Karate College” in Virginia that we spent quite some time in. There, I was able to study those disciplines and others including Krav Maga, Kung Fu, FBI submission techniques, Iron Palm and many others. I sat under David Carradine’s master as well. I’ve never met anyone else who studied Sambo which is great. I got to study under its founder. Those were some good years of hard study. I wish you all the best as you continue your studies. “Nothing remains the same - may we grow.”

Richard David

@leonardo Ramirez@ I'd also like to know more about your experience in Martial art and learn from your technique as well because 11years is a lot (smiles).

Richard David

Woooow I must say it's an honor to know you @lernardo Ramirez. The FBI is one great submission and so difficult to get out of. I really enjoy getting to know you.. you're a great personality in the world of martial art.

Leonardo Ramirez

Richard David Just replied to your DM my friend. Stay in touch!

Richard David

@leonardo I'll keep in touch with you, I really do appreciate you!

Maurice Vaughan

Martial art skills to fight aliens. I'd watch that movie, Richard David!

Tim Bragg

Well written, very professional, you put thought into how to approach industry professionals.

Tim Bragg

I noticed you are from Nigeria, what kind of productions, if any, do they do over there?

Richard David

@Maurice it also depends on the type of alien lol, as skillful as a person can be, wouldn't wanna be standing Infront of a nine footer aliens so in that case, there should be other available instrument like weapons, Amo , explosives, they do the job better. But talking about invaders, yeahh, combact is required. (Smiles)

Richard David

@Tim Bragg thank you so much for the nice and warm commentary I really do appreciate you sir. In the midst of you all, I'm humbled.

Richard David

@Tim Bragg

Nigerian Nollywood filmmakers produce a wide range of film and video content, including feature films, television series, and documentaries. Nollywood is the second-largest film industry in the world in terms of output, producing over 1,000 films annually.

Nollywood films are typically produced on low budgets and with short production schedules, which has led to the development of a unique style of filmmaking that emphasizes quick turnaround times, improvisation, and a focus on storytelling. Many Nollywood films are shot using digital cameras and rely heavily on dialogue and character-driven plots.

Nollywood films cover a wide range of genres, including dramas, comedies, action films, and romance films, among others. Some of the most popular Nollywood films have become international hits and have been screened at film festivals around the world.

It could be like "Kung Fu Hustle," Richard David. The protagonist has superpower-type skills.
