I've been a writer my entire adult life. I was drafted into the tv business by a producer who wanted me to write a series based on my blog about becoming a divorced dad. The Off Parent has been a passion project for a number of years. Just learning now (here) about pitch meetings. A good training ground for the real thing. I know it's all about NETWORKING. I don't know anyone, yet. But I'm here, getting started.
Hey, John McElhenney. I remember talking to you about "The Off Parent" last Introduce Yourself Weekend. It's a Comedy, right? If so, you can email your logline to success@stage32.com with the subject line "TV COMEDY LOGLINE" for a shot at one FREE ENTRY to the 3rd Annual Stage 32 Television Comedy Screenwriting Contest! Today's the last day for the logline contest.
And here's a great blog about networking that came out two days ago, John McElhenney: https://www.stage32.com/blog/5-tips-to-make-more-valuable-networking-opp...

A few pitches. A page one rewrite of pilot (in progress). Fantastic cover letter to send to production companies.

And more importantly, keep writing on all projects. My one pitch this week was less than exciting. ZERO feedback. The 1 question, "Have you always been a writer?" So, the message. WRITE. Keep writing. Get better.
