I have a house in deepest Transylvania (no, really) which I use as my writing hideaway. I have a new script idea for which I have a beat sheet/outline, and scene cards, and what I need now is uninterrupted time to get a first draft on paper. So I’m off to ‘Atelier de Scriitori’, which is Romanian for ‘writers workshop’. Wish me luck.

Hi John, Wow, Transylvania, a little jealous here, lol. What is the genre of your script that you will be working on? Good to meet you! Welcome to Stage 32!

Hi Sandra, nice to meet you. It's a contemporary contained thriller. There seems to be quite a market for contained scripts.

Wow, Transylvania, sounds really cool, and the perfect back drop to write a thriller. Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks Brian. It's actually nothing like the gothic image. More like going back in time to a bucolic paradise - the last unspoilt corner of Europe. All rolling hills and sunflower fields. Gorgeous - but not very thriller-ish. Quiet, that's the main thing.

John Clive Carter Interesting - I have been to the UK and Ireland, but no frame of reference for the rest of Europe since I haven't traveled there. Still, that also sounds pretty special, and quiet is always nice, perfect for writing.

There's a huge market for Contained scripts, John Clive Carter. I'm not sure if I've heard of a Contemporary Contained Thriller. Sounds interesting.

Maurice makes a good point, the genre description here isn't perfect. The script I'll be working on has a similar scenario to 'Hunt for Red October'. If anyone knows that book/film, what genre would you say it is?

Wow! We could all do with a hideaway like that John. How did you find it? Or are you really a member of Count Alucard’s family and it was part of the inheritance?
Such a place always reminds me of the early (1920’s) German Expressionist films of Wiene, Murnau and Lang. I hope you have a very focused and enjoyable time.

A Contained "'Hunt for Red October" sounds interesting, John Clive Carter. I looked up "Hunt for Red October" on IMDb and the genres are Action, Adventure, and Thriller. It says the movie is a Submarine Spy Thriller on Wikipedia.
