Hi, and thanks for stopping by... . I suppose I should explain who I am. I am a classically trained actor as well as a writer, director, presenter, stunt performer and teacher who occasionally moonlights as a clown. I came to Australia as a refugee and have fallen in love with the country. I am also a single mother of two cheeky girls who are my shining stars and the reasons I keep trying; trying to get ahead, trying to succeed, trying to make them proud. As I am sure you understand, as an artist, all I wish to do is work in my field. Therein lies my dilemma. Though I have been blessed and have been able to work in the industry (performing in theatres, as well as doing stunts in films and on TV) or in related fields (designing courses, teaching, and writing/directing shows), I still hope to work professionally in the industry. I have been trying to find out how and whom to approach in terms of my own written work. I have a treatment for a TV show ready that is based on my family and my experience working with Australian children (gifted and talented, children at risk and children with special needs), as well as refugees. I really feel it has a lot to offer and would appeal to a wide audience base. I have also written a film script that deals with sexual assault and its lasting impact (revenge thriller). I am stumped because I find myself in a vicious circle. Most producers will not look at unsolicited work, while many literary agents do not accept unproduced writers. I have no funding at this stage and so can’t really move forward. I become more active here on Stage32 to get feedback and network. It has been an invaluable experience, and I hope will help me get the"show on the road".
Take care, stay safe and positive and have a wonderful day. Cheers, Zuzi
"who occasionally moonlights as a clown." How did that happen, Zuzana Fort?! Haha
It's great that you're being more active on Stage 32. It could lead to jobs and opportunities, even you getting a chance to pitch your scripts to people. It has for me, so I know it works.
You can post your scripts on Script Revolution (https://www.scriptrevolution.com). It's free to use Script Revolution, but there's a $9.99 monthly fee for Rockstar Status (extra features, discounts, etc.).
You can check out Screenwriting Staffing (https://www.screenwritingstaffing.com/premium-membership). Some of the gig leads (which include pitching scripts to producers and production companies) and features on this website are free, but there's a $19.99 monthly fee for more gig leads and features. Sometimes producers and companies on this site look for writer-directors. I made a lot of connections and got some script requests using the site.
You can also try International Screenwriters' Association. https://www.networkisa.org/writinggigs Sometimes producers and companies on there look for writer-directors. It's free to submit to non-paying gigs, but it's $10.00 per month to submit to paid gigs. The site has a lot of other resources and features too.
Hope these things help!

You've been through a lot, and to your credit it's made you tougher. I write comedy features, but I always attempt to give the humor and characters some heart. Best wishes to you. In addition to Stage 32, I list my scripts at Script Revolution and FilmFreeway (https://filmfreeway.com).

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I will definitely check them out. And yes, I try using humour in most of my writing. It is the juxtaposition of humour with drama that creates and highlights tragedy. I guess that is why I love clowns. They embody both. All the best and cheers, Zuzi

Hi Zuzana Fort as well as an author and actor/extra, I am also part of the lounge crew team on this fantastic platform. The blog page is something I recommend, with great tips for writers and anyone in the movie business. https://www.stage32.com/blog! Good luck with all your projects and say hello to those cheeky girls. I have four cheeky children plus two very young grandsons.

You have certainly led a full and eventful life. Though nowhere near as dramatic, mine too has been interesting, and you certainly are an inspiration. I do feel my life could make an exciting read and a movie. I have written a book and self-published it, but unlike you, I have not had a great experience. My marketing skills being what they are - which is minimal, and some mistakes made by the publishers that I used have all pretty much buried the book. I'm hoping to write a film version of my story. Who knows, that may have some success. Thanks for the inspiration.
Here is a Youtube ad for my book, would love to hear your opinion.

You're welcome, Zuzana Fort. Have a great rest of the weekend.
I watched your book ad, Zuzana Fort. Wow! I don't know much about book marketing, but I was definitely drawn in by your ad. Incredible!
