Received a “Recommend”

I received a “recommend” as a writer and a “consider” on my feature screenplay, “Sleeping on Couches.” The years of rejection made the moment when I opened that email this afternoon extra special.

I can’t thank Jason Mirch and Stage 32 enough. Jason saw how hard I had been working and he took the time to refer professionals via this platform for me to connect with through the screenwriting services. He didn’t have to take the time to compile a list for me. But he did. His sincerity and customer service is beyond phenomenal.

I followed through on his referral (with Karolina B.) and received notes and positive feedback on my screenplay. Her notes were thorough and honest. She pointed out minor issues that I didn’t see prior to submitting the script to her. So yes, the project still needs some tweaks, but she saw passed the minor issues, and enjoyed the story and characters. I couldn’t ask for more in this moment. Let these be lessons: Your script doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect. It just has to work, be well-written, authentic, and resonate with the right audience. And the second lesson, keep moving forward with your screenwriting career, even when it feels like nothing is happening. I wish all of you nothing but the best!
