Hi everyone!
My name is Kaitlyn Price and my "big stupid pipe dream" (as I call it) is to be a screenwriter. Having grown up in and around "Hollywood North" I have a deep rooted love of all things film and TV.
My only screenwriting claim to fame is a Quarterfinalist placement in the 2022 VIWFF Screenplay Competition for my first feature script- "Your Happiness is Enough".
I look forward to learning from all of the skills and experience you bring to the table here!

I would second Shay's sentiment - don't give up, Kaitlyn Price! Are you still working on "Your Happiness is Enough" or have you shifted your focus to another script? Karen "Kay" Ross I actually just recently revisited it and put some editing time into it while I was giving the pilot I'm absorbed in a breather. It's a script I was (and am) really proud of so I'm always returning to it in some way.

Any contest movement is great for the soul. I suggest taking a class on our platform but there is a good book called how to write a movie in 21 days. Not so much as a guideline to get it done, but Vikki King the author nails down the process. Keep going!

I'm working on the same dream you are, as it, along with Prose Writing, will make me a better storyteller. Welcome aboard.
Welcome, Kaitlyn Price. Great to meet you. You'll learn a lot of screenwriting tips and advice on here (from writers, the blogs, the webinars, etc.). Congrats on being a quarterfinalist with your first screenplay.

Quarterfinalist is great. That's further than most of us get.

Congrats on placing in an international contest! That's some stiff competition! There's nothing "stupid" about dreams; they keep the world turning around us. And don't give up!

As long as you recognize it as a pipe dream, you'll be able to keep your bubble level.. You know the difference between a pizza and a screenwriter? The pizza can feed a small family. The screenwriter can't.
