Screenwriter Flipped from Sci-Fi to Comedy

Hi Everyone,

Did you start in one genre, then flipped to another? Or always crossed genres? I thought I was the sci-fi guy, all my fave movies are sci-fi. But then I started writing comedy and loved it. Never saw that coming.

Now writing something for an actress friend, an updated satirical take on Dante's Inferno. Trying to keep it contained and low-budget - not easy when it's set in Hell.

Often stealing from myself too. Cool ideas from other screenplays that were edited out but have found a new home!

Keep writing!

Sounds fun!

My first two feature-length scripts were both comedies. Love the stories and loved writing them. But now I have just completed an original TV pilot based on a somewhat obscure medieval historical figure I've been fascinated with for years. I believe it's the best thing I've written to date. Didn't necessarily expect that! Go with the flow, wherever the Muses take you.
