Happy Friday everyone from the Riviera Maya. I came here for a three-month creative retreat and then, boom, out of nowhere the pandemic hit, airports shut down, I had a friend who said on a Tuesday, 'I'm going to Guatemala for a few days, see you back Saturday.' CUT TO: Seven months later she returns. I went back to the US later in 2020, after my passport had expired and all the documents needed were in a storage in Los Angeles. It was insane, but it was a life changing experience walking the vast port docks for dozens of cruise ships, all abandoned -- to see all the major streets like a ghost town, and surviving three hurricanes and a major storm in the span of a month. Needless to say, I wrote a lot. Read a lot. It helped that my postgraduate program went online. I came back to get my stuff and do a farewell tour. It was a dream being here. Boy, do I have stories to tell...
