The official trailer for A Stride Towards Freedom: February First is finally here. This film revisits the first week of the Greensboro Sit-Ins—an ordinary act of courage that helped ignite an extraordinary movement. Through animation and immersive storytelling, February First honors the students who chose dignity over fear and sparked lasting change. The music driving this trailer is deeply personal. The trailer’s featured track was produced by Cedric Livingston (DJ Ced Vicious) and Metaphor The Great—a collaboration rooted in history, culture, and chance. Cedric and Metaphor first crossed paths in Greensboro, North Carolina, where Metaphor was known for battling and winning neighborhood, local, and regional rap battles across the Greensboro and New Jersey scenes. That path eventually led Metaphor to work on one of Cedric’s favorite post-college shows, The Boondocks—a series that played a major role in inspiring Cedric’s journey into animation. This trailer isn’t just a preview of a film—it’s a convergence of activism, hip-hop, animation, and lived experience. Watch the trailer. Feel the history. Carry the legacy forward. A Stride Towards Freedom: February First Original music by Cedric Livingston & Metaphor The Great #FebruaryFirst #AStrideTowardsFreedom #OfficialTrailer #IndependentFilm #AnimatedFilm #CivilRightsHistory #HipHopMeetsFilm #BlackHistory #AnimationWithPurpose
