In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Route 66, artCentral (a non-profit art organization in Carthage, Missouri) is presenting a national exhibit featuring works inspired by America's most iconic highway. As a seven-time cross-country traveler, I have a tremendous affection for Route 66 and the bits and pieces of its past that still survive. One such structure is this old Stagecoach 66 sign that I photographed in Seligman, Arizona and then painted in my studio. Though rust slowly creeps across its face, this sign continues to fight to keep the memories of the Mother Road alive. The artwork is roughly 12" x 16" (plus frame and mat.) It will not be posted for sale until the exhibition closes, but if you're interested in its availability, please contact me.
