Tagline: In a try to make living and set apart some money to dedicate his time to a music career, a young punk turned writer looks for forest-related work. He accompanies trees as they move through each stage of their life and death: planting forests in the South, selling Christmas trees in New York City, and fighting wildfires in the American West. He follows seasonal forestry work in America and witnesses the often-ignored realities of how forests are made and destroyed, the moral conflict of different labor in this industry, and measures his own social and carbon footprint.
