Welcome to Parkland is a short film narrative. Completed in 2011, WTP was shot in Parkland WA and mainly at Northern Pacific Coffee Co. on Garfield St. near Pacific Lutheran University. This was my first production outside of school. We shot on the Canon 5D Mark II along with a Zoom H4n. It was edited on AVID. The whole project was completed in four months, from treatment to authoring. I ignored everyone and made the short I wanted, and so it came in at a whopping 18 minutes with credits in the opening, and thus the film suffered on the festival circuit. I learned a lot. I was going for a acting piece, a la Cassavettes. Shot in B & W and corrected in a rough grain. It was my experiment in the three act story. I believe we got one pretty good scene, that being the conflict act. This was my learning film.
