Virginia is an active United States military service member and Licensed Practicing Clinician who specializes in counseling Active duty and retired Servicemembers diagnosed and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Moral Injury. She is the author of A Soldier's Guide to PTSD: How to No Shit Reclaim Your Life. She served in Iraq as a linguistic Intel Officer and Interpreter and battled her own personal PTSD demons. Brian is a filmmaker and documentarian who made the award-winning documentary Bastards' Road. This follows the United States Marine and combat veteran Jonathan Hancock trekking 5800 miles across the country, meeting up with the men he served with and the families of the fallen soldiers from his combat unit 2/4 which did several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. In this powerful hour, these two discuss what went into the choices they had to make to create their projects, how much they learned about themselves and PTSD, and what it means to now be a representative sharing a message and creating conversations about how we deal with this issue.
