Sapphire Creations Dance Company founder Sudarshan Chakravorty and french choreographer Michel Casanovas were documented experimenting with somatic techniques and exploring space with very talented young dancers from Kolkata. Through the days leading to the final show, the group explored new frontiers within their space and body narratives. SOMA as short documentary tries to narrate the journey of the physical bodies evolving a language sophisticated enough to generate stories and expressions from the contemporary landscape. How non accented fluid depth of life itself generates creativity. A landscape which faces many odds to mould the expression and yet after 20 years of Sapphire, dancers have learnt to tell stories which travels.
