Just completed the Stage 32 Certification class: Crew Agreements taught by Thomas A. Crowell — and I really enjoyed it.
Thomas was clear, concise, and made contract language feel a lot less intimidating as a creative. He’s a comic nerd so what’s not to like?
Here are some of the contract points the class covers:
• Work-for-Hire / Rights• Credit
• Publicity / Non-Disparagement
• Morality Clause
• Reps & Warranties / Indemnification
• Force Majeure
• Suspension / Termination
• Assignment
I’d definitely encourage any producer (or ANY creative) to check out this certification through Stage 32. It’s a great way to get more comfortable with contracts and protect yourself.Have any of you taken a certification class? What did you get out of it?
