Producing : Producers, I’m curious about your preferences when reading specs. by Sandra Correia

Producers, I’m curious about your preferences when reading specs.

When a script lands on your desk, what style do you actually prefer to read?

Do you like a lean, classic screenwriting style: minimal caps, clean action lines, and almost no transitions?

Or do you enjoy a more director‑leaning version with things like FADES, MATCH CUTS, BACK TO PRESENT, stylized emphasis, and a more cinematic voice on the page?

As producers, you’re often the first gatekeepers of tone, clarity, and feasibility, so I’d love to know:

What style helps you evaluate a project most effectively, and why?
