Why I swap between DaVinci Resolve and CapCut (and why it matters for your workflow)

In post-production, “the best software” is usually the one that fits the project’s timeline and distribution platform. I’ve found that while DaVinci Resolve is a powerhouse for node-based VFX, detailed color work, and cinematic precision, CapCut has a clear role when speed and platform-native content matter most.

For me, the decision comes down to a few trade-offs:

Precision versus speed: Resolve is my go-to for frame-by-frame VFX, advanced grading, and projects that demand maximum control.

Agility: CapCut shines with its mobile-first tools and automation, making it ideal for fast turnarounds on trending or social-first content.

Each tool excels in its own lane, and switching between them isn’t a compromise—it’s a workflow strategy.

How are you balancing high-end precision with the need for rapid content delivery lately?
