Hi everyone! I’d love to share a project I’ve been working on that experiments with form and audience experience.
For almost 30 years I was writing poetry, always dreaming of turning those words into songs. I’ve always loved rock’n’roll, blues, and classic rock. In my youth, I was deeply influenced by Jesus Christ Superstar and American Idiot. I have a basic musical background, play a bit of piano and guitar, but never considered myself a musician — let alone a composer or arranger.
When I started writing my novel, I wanted my poems to live inside it instead of staying in a drawer. That’s when I discovered tools that can generate music and vocals from text. This became the catalyst: I spent hours writing and rewriting prompts, editing, mixing, layering — until the result gave me goosebumps.
Suddenly, the songs started to echo each other and form a kind of emotional fabric for the story. They didn’t just accompany the novel — they became part of its very structure. The result is a rock-opera expressed in prose, something I now call a new genre: the Rock-Novel.
Now I’m curious to hear your thoughts:
What do you think about the possibility of collaborations with live bands to further develop the music and record songs across different genres?
And maybe even taking it one step further — realizing this as a staged rock-opera?
