Hi Stage 32,
I'm Eugene Onzere Kaiga, a Director of Photography and cinematographer based in Nairobi, running around East Africa with a Sony FX6 chasing wildlife, conservationists, tech innovators, artists and the occasional zebra that refuses to hit its mark.
Twelve-plus years in: DIT/camera assistant on BBC Earth's Serengeti (Seasons 2 & 3), lead camera and production work for African Voices, inside Africa and Market Place Africa (CNN) and documentation for UNEP, Grevy's Zebra Trust, and Mount Kenya Trust. I edit too, Premiere pro is my weapon of choice for the main workflow, Resolve and After Effects sometimes come in to add that extra sprinkle so I'm equally at home behind the camera and in the timeline shaping the story afterward.
What I'm chasing now: documentary and conservation IPs that need someone who knows East Africa's landscapes, light, and logistics from the inside — not a fly-in crew. If you're developing something in that space (or just love talking gear, storytelling, or Kenya), I'd love to connect. My favourite hobby is taking long drives to both familiar destinations as well as parts unknown, I find it very therapeutic being on the road on a bright sunny day feeling the light breeze just cruising. I'm also a husband and Father of one.
