‘The Spy and the Traitor’ by Ben McIntyre

This is one of the best books I have ever read, which is astonishing given that it is a history book. It is the true story of KGB’s Oleg Gordievsky who was a spy for the British MI6 and hence CIA, for decades. It is an astonishing, exciting, dramatic, vastly informative tale and has amazing insights into the world of spying and politics in a way I never imagined possible. The language used is simple and beautiful. This story and book is gods gift to any screenwriter interested in history and the spy genre. I would kill to be the writer who adapts this book for movies or a gang buster of a TV series. An astonishing true story written by a master craftsman - Ben McIntyre. Ben, my hat is off, my glass is raised, and I am cheering loudly.
