Kimiko has worked in the industry since graduating with her BFA in screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University. On set she maintains continuity for numerous productions as a script supervisor, whether it's indie films, television, commercials, or shorts. But when the last "martini!" is called and wrap reports are submitted, she is a writer with aspirations to create her own TV shows.
Kimiko specializes writing in sci-fi/fantasy stories with 1-hour dramas being her format of choice, but will happily write features, video games, and podcasts too. She's currently working on a fiction audio drama adaptation of her original pilot "Ferryman". She often tells stories that possess characters of the Asian diaspora and the theme of "found family" can be found woven into every plot.
When Kimiko isn't writing or on set, she's most often found on the ice as an adult amateur figure skater (with zero aspirations for competition) or engaging in some sort of craft like building miniatures to fill her already overflowing bookshelves.
Yesterday is Another World Drama In the wake of the Great Eastern Japan Disaster of 2011, two puppeteers foster a young boy whose parents are missing. Unable to have children of their own, they struggle with their growing attachment to a child who's not theirs and will one day have to return to his family.
Ferryman Fantasy After a near-death experience, a ride-share driver is thrown into the role of the legendary ferryman who transports the souls of the recently deceased.
McAlister Fantasy In a family-run hotel, the late owner and his ghostly friends investigate the gruesome murder of their newest member.
