We are currently looking for a Narrative Producer who can oversee the production process of our writers department involved with our comics, films, and occasionally games, spanning writers, consultants, and developmental editors. This is mainly a coordinating as opposed to a creative role. More below.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are creating films, games, and comics - stories with soul - for our own fantasy universe (think Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc., but smaller - for now hehe). We started 4 years ago as a small team of folks who were initially supposed to package a TV show. Finding ourselves unable to give away our IP, we decided to build out the universe ourselves to retain (creative) control. Now, 4 years later, our rag-tag band of pirates has grown to over 150 members.

Our current slate includes 3 short films (2 in active development, 1 in post production, 30min each), a comic book series (9 issues of Season 1, 40+ pages/issue), and two games (one Card Game online and offline version featuring our characters and factions, and one TTRPG with oneshots, campaign rules and region expansions). We also produce fantastic music, Shopify-sold merchandise, handcrafted art, documentaries about the making of Soul Atlas, Lore Videos, and Shorts.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a soft-skilled team player who can take charge to make things happen. Responsibilities below may be seasonal and do not necessarily occur together in any given week.

  • Support our team of writers, making sure that they have everything they need to perform at their very best (think “Ruben” from F1)
  • Keep the individual writers and the writersroom on track: Develop timelines with the writers, help them stick to the timelines. Make sure the department becomes truly disciplined and dependable (weekly/monthly goals, check-ins etc.)
  • Liaise with producers from games, films, comics, and overall production coordination to make sure you receive and hand out all dependencies as they relate to the writer’s dep.
  • Streamline the writing process by installing company standards for delivery, formatting, documentation, etc., taking different departments’ needs into account
  • Improve or install systems (i.e., braintrust) to improve output quality and experiment to get better results. Think: Could we improve how we edit? Could we improve how we outline? Could we improve how and where we pull feedback in from?
  • Help build the roster of writers, consultants, and editors to help further improve storytelling quality and soften key person risk.
  • Organize conversations, Q&As, or other touchpoints with A-list writers to help train our writers
  • Work with our other producers upon creation of the Season 2 slate (in about 1 1/2 years) to make sure new script concepts are viable for production (i.e. budget etc.)

YOU

are a diligent, personable, responsible, reachable leader and you ...

  • Have a good understanding of the writing and production process - ideally in film but comics and games are also very helpful
  • Have a track record as a producer, coordinator, and team lead in the creative area
  • Are not easily satisfied: If there is potential, we need to make use of it.
  • Speak Professional English
  • Have excellent soft skills: You know how to bring people together, address their needs, and detect any dysfunction early, while it can be treated easily.
  • Are a self-starter: If there are dependencies missing, you will get them. If you need people, you will find them. If you need information, you will request it. You always know what's next, and if you don't, you find out swiftly.

A PLUS:

  • A love for fantasy (think GOT, Witcher, LOTR, LOL, etc.)

Trials of Akash (TTRPG game) - Ongoing requirements for lore texts featured in rulebooks and oneshots

Frail Pact (WT) (Card game) - Requiring ancillary texts for card description, tutorial content, and lore
