Operations Manager / Chief of Staff for Early-Stage Film Startup

We are seeking a Lead Producer who has an interest in partial equity compensation, particularly during the pre-funding phase. 

Who you are:

Someone interested in helping to launch and oversee an animated feature film and entertainment startup from the ground up. You will be in charge of spearheading a grassroots fundraising campaign which utilizes: live events, self-published graphic novels and gorilla marketing to finance a feature film / pilot for an episodic series.

Candidate will oversee:

- Set up core company functions

- Run day-to-day operations

- Daily office operations and administrative structural organization

- Managing financial records and completing all administrative tasks

- Bookkeeping and record keeping

- Budgeting and scheduling events

- Budgeting, scheduling and overseeing production

- Database and website / web store management / fulfillment

- Social Media management / marketing oversight

- Calendar management, scheduling, appointment coordination

- Vendor relations, contract negotiations

- Supervise staff, cast and crew

- Manage crowdfunding campaigns and online distribution platforms

- Coordinate outreach and hiring

Who you are:

The ideal candidate has strong administrative and office management skills, yet would like to gain experience in strategic leadership and film production.

  • 3–8 years of experience in operations, program management, startup chief of staff, or early-stage operator roles.
  • Proven experience supporting founders/senior leaders and turning strategy into repeatable processes.
  • Hands-on with fundraising and investor processes or investor relations experience.
  • Practical marketing and events experience; able to plan and run campaigns and manage agencies/contractors.
  • Comfortable with admin and basic finance tasks. Experience with bookkeeping workflows, invoicing and vendor management.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator / high accountability and bias toward action and follow-through / comfortable making decisions with limited direction.
  • High integrity, discretion and experience handling sensitive proprietary information.

Compensation & logistics

  • Role: Full-time (remote or flexible office). Open to strong candidates starting on a part-time basis.
  • Compensation: Competitive cash + equity or all cash for the right candidate
  • Start: Immediate
