David Seth Cohen is a versatile and seasoned professional with nearly three decades of experience in the entertainment, advertising, and marketing industries. His work as a writer, producer, director, cinematographer, photographer, and editor reflects a lifelong passion for storytelling.
That passion began at age 10, when Cohen began making films and performing live shows for his family with his cousin. By 11, he had saved enough money to buy his first video camera, which shot on cassette tapes. During sleepaway camp, he launched a radio show, which he recorded on a boombox, featuring his bunkmates as guests and audience members after their counselors fell asleep.
Though he initially planned to become a lawyer, the passing of his close actor friend led Cohen to change his major to Mass Comm with a focus on Film and Television. Not long after the switch, he landed an internship at Dateline, NBC, where he experienced the world of professional TV production.
Cohen's first paid job in the biz was on the hit film, Big Daddy. Soon after, he was hired as an Associate Producer for an award-winning debate show at Telecare TV (now Catholic Faith Network). There, he quickly rose up the ranks to Producer, Senior Producer, and ultimately Executive Producer. During his tenure, he developed four additional award-winning programs, produced impactful commercials, PSAs, and interstitials, and led the production of both a 48-hour award-winning live telethon and an hour-long special titled Project Liberty: Helping People Cope in the Wake of 9/11.
In 2002, Cohen established Precision Pictures LTD, a corporate video production and photography company that creates video and photo content for individuals, corporations, and nonprofits worldwide. His photographs have been published across multiple continents, and his award-winning nonprofit films have helped raise over $80 million for those in need.
Through Legitimate Rascal Films, which Cohen founded in 2006, he's produced a teen caper comedy, premiered a multi-award-winning documentary feature, Finding Sandler, which earned four awards across ten film festivals, and produced and edited a new documentary feature that has just begun its festival run.
Today, he continues to create branded videos and nonprofit films while also working as a photographer. Additionally, Cohen is actively developing a range of film and television projects...an adult animated action-comedy series, a feature-length tennis comedy, a biopic about legendary Hall of Fame golfer Gary Player, and an adventure drama set in Montauk, NY—among others.
