About Christopher

A self-proclaimed huge gay nerd from Virginia, Christopher began his journey to screenwriting as an Air Force brat in a southern church music family. Early childhood years spent in a divided Europe in the 1980s gave him a healthy appreciation for the importance of storytelling in our journey as human beings, as well as a love of the action, sci-fi, fantasy, and animation prominent on the only English-language TV station available. Directed by his family towards a career in church music, he set off confidently for music ministry training at college and then seminary. It was there he plowed straight into the conflict between the faith he was raised in and his sexuality. He quickly realized that as a gay man, that path was over for him, so he jumped to the next most obvious choice: Musical Theatre. Not long after, a chance audition for the US Air Force Singing Sergeants led him to serve as a vocalist in Washington, D.C. After nearly a decade, he returned to civilian life, and during the pandemic in NYC, he discovered his passion for screenwriting. He writes quippy sci-fi, fantasy, and superhero stories with an eye to LGBTQIA+ representation. His personal journey also inspires him to focus on themes of transformational journeys, religious and family trauma, connection to adversity, and the power of claiming your truth. He’s a three-time Austin Film Festival Second Rounder, a Semi-Finalist in the Universal Writers Lab, and was a 2025 Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Fellow.
