THE DAY AFTER WEED

THE DAY AFTER WEED
By Panos Janis

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: Logline: When Bill, a lifelong cannabis enthusiast, gets caught in a downward spiral of sexual decadence, paranoid friends, and insatiable weed consumption, a seemingly harmless personal habit ends up — through the butterfly effect — bringing about the end of humanity. Literally

SYNOPSIS:

Bill has one mission in life: to smoke the finest weed available. He works at a cannabis company, is permanently stoned but otherwise functional — until Peter shows up in his life, a deadbeat friend who keeps introducing him to women that seem like they’ve walked straight out of a trashy reality show. The problem? They’re all toxic, over-the-top, and burn through weed at industrial-level rates. As the parties reach Roman Empire levels of decadence and their cannabis demands spiral out of control, the market starts to dry up. Bill’s company can’t keep up with supply. The cartels go to war. The stock market crashes. Governments panic. And through a series of hilarious — yet terrifyingly plausible — chain reactions… World War III breaks out. With flashbacks of past sexual excess, surreal wild nights, and desperate dealers suffering from burnout, the film follows Bill as, unknowingly, he tips the first domino that leads to a nuclear apocalypse.
