In today’s global production landscape, understanding tax incentives isn’t optional—it’s essential. You’re operating in an increasingly competitive market where financing is harder to secure and margins are tighter than ever. Countries around the world are offering aggressive and lucrative tax incentives to attract productions of all sizes, and knowing how to take advantage of these opportunities can dramatically impact whether your project gets financed and produced. If you want to stay competitive and maximize your budget, you need a clear understanding of how current global tax incentives work.

At the same time, this is where many creatives get stuck. You might think tax incentives are too complicated, too technical, or only relevant for large-scale productions. In reality, navigating incentives requires understanding far more than just location—you need to evaluate different types of programs, interpret the fine print, determine qualified spend, and structure your production correctly to actually receive the benefit. On top of that, the process involves multiple stakeholders—from producers and accountants to lawyers and financiers—and without a clear roadmap, it’s easy to make costly mistakes or leave money on the table.

Your instructor, Viviana Zarragoitia, brings a rare combination of hands-on production, studio, and financing experience to this topic. As the Senior Vice President of Three Point Capital, she has been directly involved in financing over 100 independent films and works closely with top-tier producers across the industry. Her background spans production accounting at Millennium Films and Bold Films, as well as finance and profit participation at Lionsgate, where she handled multi-million dollar deals and royalty audits. Today, she closes financing on every project her company supports and oversees operations across multiple regions, giving her a comprehensive, real-world perspective on how tax incentives fit into the larger financing puzzle.

In this webinar, you’ll gain a practical understanding of the global tax incentive market, including how to navigate different programs, evaluate jurisdictions, and understand key deal structures like co-productions versus production services. You’ll learn what makes an incentive program attractive to financiers, how to assess the true value behind headline percentages, and how to collaborate effectively with essential team members like production accountants, tax attorneys, and third-party financiers. By the end, you’ll walk away with the tools and confidence to choose the right incentive strategy for your project and successfully manage the process from application through final payout.

PRAISE FOR VIVIANA'S PREVIOUS STAGE 32 EDUCATION:

"As someone who was totally new to the world of film financing, trying to learn about the process by myself was intimidating to put it lightly. Viviana clearly explains the film financing process step-by-step and demystifies the complex, bespoke nature of pre-sales, tax credits, sales agents, and so much more. I feel infinitely more confident in my ability to produce a film thanks to this class. I give it the highest possible recommendation for any independent filmmaker looking to finance their film and take their projects to the next level." - Sean R

"Viviana was personable, professional, interesting, interested, and a wealth of knowledge and useful information. I will take every opportunity to learn from her. She was patient and polite with every question and always clear with what she knew, what she thought, what she believed, and what she didn't know. She painted pictures and delivered facts, outlining the paths she has seen successful producers take while still encouraging all to pursue their art with a greater knowledge of the business and understanding of the challenges and potential pitfalls." - Randy G.

"As an experienced film and television producer and writer, Viviana's class was just the refresher - and inspiration - that I needed! Having been a completion producer for a bond company, I have seen too many producers who were let down in the producing process by so-called-professionals who offered support at the on-set of a production, but then failed to deliver when needed. Viviana and her company Three Point Capital have an excellent reputation, and her counsel provided in the class solidified that. I highly recommend both Viviana and Stage 32 Education!" - Patricia C.
