If you've ever stared at a budget template and wondered why the numbers never quite match what production actually costs, you already know the problem. Budgeting isn't just a financial exercise — it's the backbone of every creative decision you'll make as a filmmaker or producer. When your budget is off, your shoot is off. And when your shoot is off, your film is in trouble. Understanding how to take a script all the way from breakdown through scheduling, budgeting, and cost reporting isn't a nice-to-have skill — it's the skill that determines whether your project gets made and whether it stays made.
